Remember when I said I would update the blog every two weeks? Oh, well... I've been a bit (actually a lot) under the weather for the past 2-3 weeks and my poor blog is suffering from lack of attention. Easily resolved - today I return!

Since my last post, I have been familiarizing myself with the kind of documentation that Sakai needs. I started working on documentation for the Assignments tool, but due to my background in training end users, the documentation was focused too much toward them and not enough to the QA tester. I've made the adjustment - in the process of regression testing the Assignments tool (on QA3-US), I saw exactly what was needed and set to work. There are many areas where the test conditions exist but need to be fleshed out, and I've been eagerly ceating Excel spreadsheets listing the test conditions for various tools. After I attend to this blog, my next step will be to update my Wiki page with the documentation I've created.

For the past month, I have worked on the following:

Documentation - Assignments and Resources

Regression Testing - Assignments (create, submit, grade, full regression suite)

Regression Testing - Resources (full test conditions)

Testing - Samigo Tool (SAK-13930)

Testing - The win demo version of Sakai 2.5.3

I'm currently working on testing the win binary version of Sakai 2.5.3

See you again in two weeks...

Angela on Sakai

August 4 - 17, 2008

My first two weeks as a Sakai QA Analyst have come and gone. I spent a lot of time familiarizing myself with the systems in place, and I learned a lot - it was exciting and didn't seem like work (the best kind of work to have). I'm using this blog to chronicle my activities. On average, I'll post every two weeks, but if something big comes up, you may hear from me as it happens :-)

Following is a brief summary of my work for the period August 4-17, 2008:

Review and Familiarization

Test and Standard conditions

Automation

Release Workgroup

Assignments Project

Installation of Sakai 2.5.0 and 2.5.2 (demo versions)

JIRA

Nabble and Sakai QA lists

Testing and Verification

SAK-12842 Forms issue (OSP QA 1 server)

Sakai 2.5.3 Maintenance Release (SVN trunk on HSQLDB)

Sakai 2.5.2 (installed and tested demo version on my computer)

Documentation - Assignments Tool

Researched tasks of interest in connection with the Assignments Tool

Created MS Word and PPT 2007 drafts - how to create, view and publish a basic assignment

Posted VERY preliminary drafts on Wiki - see http://bugs.sakaiproject.org/confluence/display/QA/Angela%27s+Space

This first post is rather stodgy - as time goes on I will inject more narrative into the continuing saga of Angela on Sakai.

Best...
